Fields Management

Create, configure, and manage upload fields for your products. Master the core functionality of UploadsPro.

Overview

Fields define where and how customers upload files on your product pages. From here you can create, edit, and manage all upload fields.

The fields list shows field name, assigned products, and quick actions (edit, duplicate, delete). Pagination controls let you view 5, 10, or 25 fields per page.

Plan limits: the Basic (free) plan allows up to 5 upload fields per store. Professional removes this limit. When you reach the cap, the "New field" and "Duplicate" buttons are disabled and a banner links to the upgrade page.

Creating a Field

Click Create Field to add a new upload option. The editor guides you through several sections:

1. Field Details

  • Name & Help Text: Displayed to customers above the upload button.
  • Product Targeting: Show on all products or filter by product/collection (title, handle, vendor, type, tags).

2. Button Preview & Appearance

See a live preview of the upload widget and customize the button:

  • Text: Label, button text, text after upload.
  • Style: Colors, font size, border radius, padding, width, CSS classes.

3. Upload Behavior

  • Files allowed: Single or multiple (with min/max limits).
  • Accepted types: Any file, images only, or custom MIME types. On the Basic (free) plan, new fields are restricted to images (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF). Upgrade to Professional to accept PDFs, DOCX, ZIPs and other file types.
  • Required field: Force upload before adding to cart (custom error message supported).

4. Notes

Optionally allow customers to add text notes with their upload. Configure label, help text, input size, max length, single-line vs. multiline, and whether it’s required.

5. Advanced Options

  • Image tools: Enable crop (free, square, circle, ratio), rotate, sharpen, or enhance.
  • Upload sources: Device, camera, URL, or cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.).
  • Image restrictions: Set minimum dimensions, max file size (capped at 50 MB on Basic, 2 GB on Professional), or a smaller custom limit.
  • Guidelines: Add a link with instructions shown in a popup.
  • Widget language: Match store language or select from 20+ options.

6. Add Amount (Professional Only)

Charge extra fees per file or as a flat rate. Configure amount, message, and calculation method. Currency matches your store settings.

Managing Fields

  • Save/Update: Create or edit a field.
  • Delete: Remove a field permanently (confirmation required).
  • List actions: Edit, duplicate, or delete directly from the overview.

Troubleshooting

Fields not showing

  • Confirm field is active and product targeting is correct.
  • Check theme integration in the Dashboard.
  • Clear cache or test in another browser/device.

Upload issues

  • Ensure file size/type matches your field rules.
  • Check internet connection and browser compatibility.
  • Inspect browser console for errors if issues persist.

Add Amount not working

  • Requires Professional plan subscription.
  • Verify settings in Dashboard and checkout flow.
